Along with the hectic training scheduled, the Indian students also had interaction sessions with the leadership of brands like Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Bosch, and Siemens.

Five students from the School of Mechanical Engineering, LPU were selected to attend the Automation & Automotive Training Program ‘AutoSol-2016’, held in Germany. The participation from Indian students was for an important Indo-Euro Synchronization initiative. Only 14 students were selected from across the country to receive this cutting-edge training.

Along with the hectic training scheduled, the Indian students also had interaction sessions with the leadership of brands like Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Bosch, and Siemens. LPU-students made the most of the training by also availing the unique opportunity to work with live European projects.

Steinbeis University in Berlin and APS (European Centre for Mechatronics) recognized the training of LPU students. Steinbeis University will provide 6 Credit Points Certificates to LPU trainees while APS will give them the option to participate in a 6 months internship/project  at ‘European Labs for Mechatronics’ . LPU Chancellor Mr. Ashok Mittal congratulated the selected students and urged them to make the most of the opportunity.

Participating LPU students Mohammad Asadullah Maqdoom (from Telangana), Tiruvarangam Srinivas (from Andhra Pradesh), Harssh Arun Sharma (from Maharashtra), Navjot Singh and Maeru Jain (both from Punjab) said unanimously, “We are indeed fortunate to attend this great India and Europe connecting program. It has formed a technological transfer bridge between all the participants. While gaining a comprehensive insight into the auto-industry situation in Germany, we also enhanced our professional skills and career prospects. We are thankful to LPU teachers who encouraged us to avail this opportunity.”

Mechanical Engineering student Harsh who hails from a small village in the Thane District of Maharashtra shared “At Stuttgart in Germany, we all imbibed Mercedes-Benz’s great slogan- “Das Beste oder nichts” which means “the best or nothing”. Here, our tour to world’s largest car production plant of Mercedes Benz offered us a detailed and amazing insight into the fascinating world of vehicle manufacture. We saw the press shop- where the first parts are shaped; robots working fast at the body shop; and, the assembly areas. It was an awe inspiring experience.”
