Our Professor in Chemistry from the LPU’s School of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Ravichandran has published a valuable article on Medicinal Plants for Curing Human Diseases in the Insight Chinese Medicine (ICM) journal.
ICM is an open-access, peer-reviewed online journal that encompasses all aspects of research on Chinese medicine. It is devoted to communication among pharmaceutical and medical scientists interested in the advancement of Traditional Chinese Medicines. The areas of interest include herbal medicine, health food, clinical nutrition, acupuncture, energy research, and medical education.
The article focuses on medicinal plants, which are important sources to combat serious diseases all over the world. The significance of medicinal plants in the treatment of diseases increases every day. In fact, plant-derived agents are used for the treatment of cancer. Some of the plants have been found to possess significant antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Medicinal plants have been playing an essential role in the development of human society. There is a promising future for medicinal plants as there are about half a million plants around the world, and most of them are not investigated yet for their medical activities. Their hidden potential for medical activities could be decisive in the treatment of present and future studies.
