LPU faculty from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Ravichandran, an Associate Professor in Chemistry, has presented a talk on “Sustainable Development through Polymer Chemistry” in a virtual International Conference on Chemical and Environmental Sciences (ICCES- 2020). The conference was organized by St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai on November 11-12, 2020.
The main focus of the conference aims to bring scientists, researchers, scholars and students to discuss and share their experiences and research results in all aspects of Chemical and Environmental Sciences. This conference provides a common platform for young budding scientists and researchers to showcase their research findings and to motivate them towards high-quality research.
The conference was attended by more than 200 delegates. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. P. Dananjayan (Vice Chancellor, St.Peter’s Institute of Higher Education, Chennai) who delivered the presidential address. Other dignitaries present during the conference included Thidarat Bunsri, BioSmart Material Research Group, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok; Dr.U. P. Senthil Kumar, Senior Vice President, Research and Development Center, Orchid Chemicals Ltd; Dr.Logudurai Radhakrishnan, Professor & Head, Department of Chemistry, Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science; Dr.N.Balaji, Manager, Analytical Research and Development, Novitium Pharma, USA.
The convener Dr. Sayeeda Sultana, Professor & Head, Department of Chemistry, St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education, Chennai highlighted the importance of Chemical and Environmental Sciences for the use of human society. The experts, research scholars & students discussed over two days the various aspects of Chemical and Environmental Sciences.
Dr. Ravichandran has presented the importance and developments of Polymer Chemistry to solve the current issues of our country for a better living. Many industries and research of many academics recognize the significance of Polymer Chemistry which is an emerging technology and India has an abundant skilled workforce to become a global leader in the field of Polymer technology.
He also delivered a talk on “Polymer Composites” in another Virtual International Conference on SMART ADVANCED MATERIAL SCIENCE & ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS – 2020 (IVCSAMSEA-2020) which was organized by Department of Physics, KL University, Guntur during December 3-5, 2020.
