Lovely Professional University (LPU) proudly hosted the launch of the Punjabi version of the renowned English book “The Art of Jogging with Your Boss”, authored by Shri Soma Veerappan, a retired General Manager of Punjab National Bank. The Punjabi edition, titled “YESS BOSS”, is published by Unistar Books and translated by Shri Yash Paul Manvi, Assistant Director of School Education, Punjab Government. The book offers a fresh perspective on management principles derived from Thirukkural, the timeless work of the ancient Tamil poet, Thiruvalluvar.

Distinguished Guests at the Launch
The book was officially released by Dr. Avinash Rai Khanna, President of the Indian Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development. In his address, Dr. Khanna appreciated Shri Soma Veerappan’s remarkable contribution to making these management concepts accessible to Punjabi readers. He acknowledged the book’s relevance in today’s corporate world, drawing lessons from ancient wisdom that continue to resonate in modern leadership.

A Tribute to Authors and Translators
Dr. Sanjay Modi, Pro Vice-Chancellor of LPU, honoured both the author and translator for their commendable work. He emphasized the importance of such literary contributions that merge traditional values with modern management practices. Dr. Sorabh Lakhanpal, Dean of Student welfare, LPU extended his warm wishes for the success of “YESS BOSS” and lauded the initiative to bring the principles of Thirukkural to a wider audience.

Author’s Vision of Management in the AI Era
During the event, Shri Soma Veerappan shared insightful reflections on the significance of Thirukkural in the corporate world, drawing parallels between kingship in ancient times and today’s corporate leadership. He stressed that in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), it is equally important to value Native Intelligence (NI) – the inherent wisdom and intellect that organizations and individuals must nurture. Thiruvalluvar’s thoughts on governance, leadership, and ethics, originally meant for kings, remain profoundly applicable to today’s CEOs and business leaders.
