Lovely Professional University has signed a significant ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ with Virtusa, headquartered in the USA. On this occasion, a ‘Virtusa Centre of Excellence’ was also inaugurated at LPU’s School of Computer Engineering, at the university. MoU will further help in strengthening LPU’s academia-industry connection, especially in the area of new domains of information technology including the ‘Google Cloud Platform’.
On behalf of Virtusa, MoU was signed by its Senior Vice President & Global Delivery Head Mohit Sharma. While interacting with LPU students at the Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the university, Mr Sharma shared that Virtusa sparks innovation, and helps one to drive transformation with expert execution at a global scale. He also guided students about the ‘Virtusa Student Ambassador Program’, and informed them that it is a unique opportunity for students to commence a long-lasting relationship with Virtusa.
Global Strategy & Engagement Head Krithivasan S; and Graduate Talent Programme representatives Ms Geetanjali S and Ms Indumathy D of Virtusa accompanied Mr Sharma. All of them also had a tour of the campus and applauded the international infrastructure at the campus for innovations and research.

Dr Gupta shared that LPU has already collaborated with more than 50 giant technology companies for the industry immersion of its students. Industry projects provide LPU students insights into the latest trends in the corporate world and help them become competitive and ready for real corporate challenges.
Worth mentioning, going beyond the classroom and closer to the industry, LPU has extensively integrated various educational and skills-providing programmes into its curriculum. LPU offers various opportunities to its students to work directly with industry on live and entrepreneurial projects. It has industry internships in corporate giants like Cognizant, Microsoft, Infosys, ABB, ISRO, and Simplex to name a few.
