Dr. Mittal hails the hoisting of the Indian Tri-Colour on the South Pole of the Moon as a momentous occasion, highlighting that this remarkable feat sets India apart as the first nation to accomplish such a historic endeavor. The successful landing of ‘Vikram’ showcases the exemplary technological prowess and unwavering commitment of our nation’s scientists and researchers.

Furthermore, Dr. Mittal recalls the visit of the ISRO Chairman and his esteemed colleagues to the LPU Campus, where they shared their visionary goals for India and ISRO in lunar exploration. During the visit, the Chairman encouraged LPU students to explore the vast opportunities in the space sector and assured them of ISRO’s support in their endeavors.

It is worth mentioning that last year, S. Somanath, Chairman of ISRO and Secretary, of the Department of Space (Government of India), graced LPU with his presence and inaugurated the 2nd International Conference on Small Satellites (ICSS-2022). This prestigious event witnessed the participation of the top 30 space scientists from India, who collectively emphasized the diverse applications, business prospects, and myriad benefits emerging from the space sector. The Chairman urged students to engage in research and development activities related to space exploration, igniting their curiosity and enthusiasm.
