Lovely Professional University organized  two-day ‘Programme Advisory & Monitoring Committee (PAMC) meeting on individual research proposals. 42 Scientists from IITs, NITs, IIITs, top Central and State Universities from across the country presented their methodical research proposals during this event. Research proposals were categorised in 4 themes, which are – Cyber Physical Systems; Data Science, Internet of Things; and, Cyber Security.

PAMC Meet at LPU

Scientist Dr Rajeev Sharma from Department of Science & Technology (Govt of India) chaired the inaugral day of the meeting. LPU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ramesh Kanwar, Senior Dean Dr Lovi Raj Gupta and Head Division of Research & Development Prof Dr G Geetha welcomed the intelligentsia from across the country. LPU VC Dr Kanwar welcomed the esteemed guests at the meeeting and shared that LPU always keeps on research endeavours so that maximum number of scientists emerge from LPU and the country to solve out all problems being faced by the global society. Dr Kanwar shared his desire of the nation achieving fruitful outcomes in the field of Science and Research. Furthermore, he explained how in other countries, the research is funded not only by government bodies, but from non-educational agencies like, Tesla Motors.

Department of Science and Technology(GOI), has recently launched new programme “Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems (ICPS)” to foster and promote Research & Development in this emerging field of research. Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are integrations of computation, networking, and physical processes tightly integrated with internet and its users. Cyber Physical Systems essentially bridge the gap between the physical world and computing systems.

PAMC Meet at LPU

Dr. Tanmoy Som from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Banaras Hindu University, Dr Faiz Hamid of IIT Kanpur, Dr Rajiv Misra IIT Patna, Dr Nishtha Kesswani of Central University of Rajasthan, Dr Aruna Tiwari from IIT Indore and all other scientists, who participated at the meeting, thanked both DST and LPU, whose collaborative endeavour has enabled and inspired them to carry on with their prestigious projects.
