Faculty Members, Scientists and scholars from all parts of India participated in Online Short Term Course on Real Time Big Data Ingestion and Analytics with Apache Hadoop, Kafka and Spark. Dr. Amritpal Singh, Assistant Professor, LPU was invited as the resource person.
The participants went through hands-on sessions where they were updated with fundamental techniques of big data analytics with scalability and streaming capability. The Audience was equipped with the skills helpful for solving complex real-world problems thus enhancing their decision-making abilities contributing to their personal and professional growth.
Hands on sessions were conducted on Introduction to Apache Hadoop and Map Reduce, HDFS basics and commands, Introduction to Apache Spark and Scala, Basics of RDD, Data Frames, Real Time Streaming with Spark Streaming, Machine Learning using Spark MLlib and Kafka CLI and Kafka Java Programming. The participants showcased their data analysis and data streaming skills during the program.
The participants appreciated the course in terms of the conduct, choice of subject matter expert, handling of queries and applicability of the content in solving real time problems in the industry. Mr. Shashi Tarun, a participant and a research scholar said “I learnt how to work with voluminous data using existing libraries available in Ubuntu OS.”
