“You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will.” – Stephen King

While working as a student, we often forget to listen to our own words. Those words which used to echo in our minds when we fantasized about our dreams. When we used to unknowingly smile as a picture of us becoming who we exactly wanted to be crossed our mind. Every individual is said to carry such a dream inside them. Whether it’s them becoming something or stating to do something, it’s there, and it’s scary too. The reason being that the probability of the same actually happening in our lives is really small. Or we think so.

Parental pressure, lack of confidence or sometimes reality brings us back to the same position where we started. We feel restrained and stop being true to our own belief system. We blame whoever we can to make ourselves understand that the dream was just a childish thought. But if you stop for a second, take a step back, breathe and think of it as something you really want, soon you’ll be able to live your dream.

Here’s a 10 minute a day guide to kick start the journey –

Commit yourself to write for 10 minutes a day. Write the goal down. Whatever you’ve dreamt about and no matter how silly it may sound inside your head, just put it down in your journal or a piece of paper. Break your big dreams into small goals. Make sure that they are specific, doable, measurable and daily. For example – If you want to be a musician, write down a treasure map to it. Take 10 minutes and write down what you’d be doing that day to become a musician. Practicing your instrument, approaching a record label, performing at a college competition, or just watching a YouTube video to polish your skills! It’s upon you and it’s your dream coming true.

Cheer the setbacks. They are a part of your journey to success so accept and learn from them. You’ll experience unimaginable joy when you successfully complete these mini goals and you’ll see yourself living your dream, with your eyes open!
