Silk Road International Tourism University (SRITU), Uzbekistan organised an international scientific, research and practical conference in Samarkand where a globally significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Lovely Professional University. This MoU would foster cooperation not only in education but also in the tourism sector. On behalf of SRITU, Vice-Rector Turaev Bakhodir signed the MoU for mutual consensus.

Head of the LPU’s Division of International Affairs Mr Aman Mittal shares that this collaboration would benefit students and staff members of both the universities and the people of the two countries in numerous ways. Prof Dr Sandip Valia, Head of the Tourism & Airlines Department at LPU, attended the conference as Key-Note Speaker and emphasized on the revival of old silk route and trade. Other international universities that participated in this conference were from Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine and more. The conference proved a bridge for negotiations, contributing to the prospective development of international cooperation between leading universities and specialists in tourism; and, so memorandums of cooperation were signed at the conference.

Dean at LPU School of Hotel Management and Tourism (SoHMT), Amreesh Misra shares that internationalism & diversification are one of the unique strengths of SOHMT. Along with this collaboration, the school will make contributions to the development of the tourism industry in the years ahead.

Many international speakers attended the conference held on “Effective Use of Tourist Potential of the Territories: Theory, Practice and Prospects“. The aim of the conference was to create an international platform that fosters the exchange of experience and development of scientific-methodological, practical proposals and recommendations for effective use of tourist potential of the regions.
