At some point, we often start calling our university our “home sweet home”. While studying at Lovely Professional University (LPU), I have realised that every student experiences some feelings that are more common than others. Students often share emotional bonds, a passion of thoughts and the midnight Maggie that seems to be the end of every troublesome situation. The university becomes more familiar and becomes a place which offers a real understanding of life.
We all have those breakdowns in the middle of the night when we are studying for the final next day. A craving for mayonnaise and a slice of bread is something that never seems to go away. Most importantly, waves of sentiments that turns us into who we are till we finally graduate.
Here are 12 such emotions that I bet you’ve experienced and may never forget:
- An uncomfortable loneliness when all your friends go home for the weekend but you are alone in your room
- Ordering something that you’re craving and taking it to your hostel just so you can enjoy it more
- Feeling like a bag of frozen peas in that one classroom where the AC is too much on point
- Trying to look presentable for a very early morning lecture
- That sigh of relief when you realise you didn’t fail the subject which you were thinking was impossible pass
- The feeling when your laptop is on running on a 10% charge and you’ve forgotten your laptop charger on your bed
- The stress on that first day when you have to introduce yourself to a bunch of strangers in every class
- The feeling of satisfaction when you sleep after pulling an all-nighter on the previous day
- Waking up with one sock and finding the other one under your bed sheet
- When you have a lot of things on your list, but you just want to watch the next episode of your favourite TV show
- Feeling alone amongst a huge crowd
- The feeling of being homesick that attacks you on your first night in the hostel
