The relationship between siblings is of a sweet and sour nature. You fight with each other a lot but will readily punch anyone in the face, if they say anything against your sibling.
Sadly though, you only start to realize the value of your siblings when they aren’t around you anymore. I and my sister have moved to almost opposite parts of India for higher studies. I am studying here in Punjab and she is doing her Masters from Bangalore.
As we have hardly had time for each other for the last oneyear, I decided to give her a surprise on her birthday. I asked a close friend of mine to help me choose a kurti for my sister, as I am terrible at buying clothes, especially for ladies. We selected a black kurti by Biba, on Myntra, and I directed the delivery to my sister’s hostel.
Just to tease my sister, I told her that I had ordered a superman vest for myself, and since it didn’t have a delivery option for Jalandhar, I was getting it delivered to her so that could collect and courier me the package.
The day the consignment was to be delivered I made a video call to her and asked her to unpack the package in front of me. The shine in her eyes and the broad smile on her face when she saw the kurti was just beautiful. She was very happy with the gift, as it was bought with my own hard earned money.
So Vertos, cherish your siblings, do things that’ll make them happy. They may fight with you often but also love you unconditionally with their whole heart.
