Lovely Professional University faculty Ms. Prabhjot Kaur, who is a Dance Instructor has won two awards at India International Dance Congress (IIDC) 2018 held in Bengaluru. She won the 2nd Runner Up Prize in Solo Semi Pro Category and Bachata Division Semi Pro Category. In Bachata Division Semi Pro Category, she gave a performance along with her partner Trilok Singh Negi. She has made the university and her students proud by winning at such a large platform.
Prabhjot Kaur is a vivacious performer who specializes in various dance styles including Semi Classical, Folk and Salsa. She has completed her graduation in Indian dance of Kathak. Prior to this, she has won several awards in various national level fests and competitions like CU Fest 2018. She also won the prize for her performance at IIDC in 2017. In fact, she also choreographs dance performances like Rajasthan Folk Dance, Bhangra Fusion, Semi Classical Dance by students at LPU during various important events. She choreographed various dance performances by students during the Freshmen Induction 2018. She has also performed on TV Channels like DD Punjabi.
It is worth mentioning that IIDC is one of a kind platform for dancers and artists to unite and as well as win commendation for their hard work and talent. It started in 2012 to increase the popularity of Latin Dance Community in India. It has also organized international championships like Asia Open Championship and invites top judges from across the world to select the best dancers. IIDC, in fact, boasts of being the first and only festival in India to witness many of the dancing superstars of Latin to India.
