LPU and Society for Automotive Engineering-Northern India Section (SAENIS) hosted Efficycle-2016 was has concluded. Out of the 105 participating teams, team ‘Incredibles’ of KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad were declared overall winners of the competition; whereas, teams from College of Engineering Pune, and Government College of Technology, Coimbatore were declared 2nd and 3rd respectively. Cash prizes of Rs. 1,00,000, Rs. 75,000, and Rs. 50,000 were awarded these winners respectively. In all, cash prizes worth Rs. 7 lakh and certificates were distributed to winning teams in different categories of the competitions. Of these, 15 winning teams/individuals were awarded with cash prizes ranging from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 30,000 each for the Best Design, Innovation, Marketing Presentation, Acceleration, Utility, Gradient, Maneuverability, Durability, Slogan, Light Vehicle, Built up Quality, Faculty Adviser, and the Best Girl participant.
The event was supported by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), Indian Oil Corporation and ICAT. Executive Adviser MSIL Mr. I. V. Rao was the Chief Guest of the occasion while Sr. Vice President (R&D) MSIL, Dr. Tapan Sahoo, Ex Director & Member Governing Body SAE India Mr Balraj Bhanot, GM ICAT Mr. UD Bangale, and DGM (R&D) MSIL Mr. Jitendra Malhotra were Guests of Honour.
Congratulating the winning teams, Mr. Rao said, “For me, you all are winners, the work you have done is commendable. The great battle for green mobility, organized at LPU in collaboration with SAENIS, has exhibited new excitement, and challenges never seen before. I truly appreciate the deep commitment and enthusiasm shown by the studens for making the Efficycle-2016 a memorable event.”
