With a long weekend just around the corner, we are all engaged in making plans to somewhere serene and wonderful. Excitement can be seen in almost every faces as they gear up for the holidays to spend time with their families, or go on an adventurous trip with friends and loved ones. Just the other day as I entered the class, I witnessed different groups of friends in each corner of the classroom discussing their favored destination for the holidays. In this article I’ll be discussing about the beautiful destinations nearby to be visited during this break so that you can strike off some places in your bucket-list (Positively these places might be included in your bucket-list).
Manali
The beautiful hills of Manali can only be compared to the best. With the serene view of nature’s own paradise, and the cold chilly touch of winters presence. And believe me when I say that, Diwali is the best time to visit this beautiful paradise- with the decorated streets of Mall road, people lighting up the fireworks, the delicious roadside stalls (serving delicious cuisine), and the festive mood can be seen in almost every corner. And if you happen to be an adventure junkie, you can try out trekking, camping, rock climbing, and rafting just in and around Solang valley and Rohtang pass.
Rishikesh
One of the most sought after river rafting location is located in Rishikesh, and the place is crowded with tourist and locals waiting in line to experience the trill and fun of rafting. Camping scenario in this area is also very common- offering the real life experience of camping in the forest under the skylit night. Some of the places to visit while in Rishikesh are the Lakshman Jhula, Bharat Mandir, Neelkanth Mahadev temple, and so much more.
Mcleodganj
There is something elegant and serene about a waterfall, and much has been talked about the famous Bhagsu Falls in Mcleodganj where the waterfalls are portrayed through rocks that are positioned as if crafted by men himself. Bhagsunath temple, Norbulingka institute, kangra fort etc. are such places in this region where the view itself would do the talking.
Shimla
Experience snowfall at its best this winter on the hills of Shimla, where the snow covered region looks magnificently breathtaking from any direction. A must visit place for the photo enthusiast, as its landscapes and roads covered in snow is art itself. For the shopaholics visiting this place, Lakkar Bazar and Mall Road would not disappoint you at all. Jakhoo Temple, Christ Church, and Himachal State Museum are the other sights to be admired in this region.
Dalhousie
Personally, I am a nature enthusiast, and I love the serene greens filled with trees and grasses along the landscaped beauty of the hill station of Dalhousie. One cannot just simply walk away, but be lost in the awe aspiring view of nature at its best. The Khajjiar Lake in Dalhousie is a must visit if you happen to pass by here. St. John church, Dainkund Peak, Panch Pulla etc. are some of the tourist favorite.
Life happens only once so stop jotting down places to visit on your bucket-list, and start crossing down some names by actually visiting these remarkable places. Call your squads and make a budget and start planning for the holidays because holidays are a luxury out here (Like I said…☺). I’ll be on my way to these destinations by the end of this week, so you better start planning before it’s too late.
