On the 15th of February where on one hand, the University had hosted one of its biggest global fests – YouthVibe 2020 and on the other hand the proud alumni of 2004, 2009 and 2014 batch of LPU got a chance to reconnect with their alma mater, to recreate their old memories, to interact with their faculties and to have lots of fun through Homecoming 2020.
All the alumni along with their parents, families came to the beautiful campus, interacted with some current students, had a panel discussion with other alumni in their respective schools. That was followed by some bonding activities and gift distribution.
After that, everyone headed for an amazing afternoon which included meeting the University heads and having many other activities at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium. Deputy Director of Human Resource Development Centre Mr Sarabjit Kwatra with his co-host Mr Vishnu kickstarted the event in the esteemed presence of – Hon’ble Chancellor Ashok Mittal Sir, Worthy Pro-chancellor Rashmi Mittal Ma’am, Director General HR Singla Sir, Senior Executive Dean Dr Monika Gulati Ma’am, Executive dean Dr Sanjay Modi Sir, and Dr Loviraj Gupta Sir and other faculties from various schools. Some of the alumni share memories of their college times and shared their wonderful experience.
With a star alumnus and well-renowned singer Paras Mann singing song, the day witnessed a most awaited ceremony, Alumni Awards – 2020. Many great leaders, entrepreneurs, writers, singers were awarded the alumni awards. The list includes Rahul Chauhan, Paras Mann, Jasbir Singh, Mandeep Kaur Sidhu, and many more. Some of them were having their own IT companies running, their own NGOs, some are national award-winning writers, but one thing was very common in i.e. they were uplifting the bars and standards of their own Lovely Professional University.
Group photographs with all students of different classes were clicked and later the Head of Division of Alumni Relations, Gaurav Gupta Sir addressed alumnus and presented Alumni Report 2019-20. He shared his experience of interacting with many alumni and conducting many Community Service activities in various alumni meetings across the world. He also spoke about the upcoming alumni meet. He suggested everyone stay connected with their family members and ended by giving a beautiful message “Net worth lies in Network“.
Current students presented some cultural activities in front of their seniors giving a wonderful message of diversity and nationalism. With Dr Loviraj Gupta Sir giving a vote of thanks to everyone, and with his kind words “Whatever you all are doing, wherever you are doing, it’s all taking LPU to the next level, keep growing”, all dignitaries and alumni head to lunch.
Post lunch, “Alumni green campus activity” and “campus tour” were the activities that alumni enjoyed and took pride in being a VERTO. They planted trees in the campus premises, offering a beautiful campus to their juniors.
At last, with Youth Vibe which was going on the caravan moved to Baldev Raj Mittal UniPolis where all enjoyed a fantastic live band and foot-tapping performance by Lagori Band. This was the perfect way to conclude LPU’s Alumni Homecoming – 2020.
