We are proud to share that District Kapurthala Handball team, comprised of all LPU students, has lifted scintillating Winners’ Trophy and Gold Medals at the 43rd Senior State Handball (M/W) Championship. The event was recently held at Sri Anandpur Sahib Khalsa Academy, Lakhan Kala, Kapurthala. Our devoted students defeated other strong teams from across Punjab, including 11 times Winner Ropar Team and brought laurels to the State & university. The competition was conducted by Punjab Handball Association among all-district teams of the state. To win the finals, Ropar team was defeated by 6 goals in Semi-final; and, Sangrur team was crushed by 5 goals in the final match.
The participating students from LPU are Bhawana, Priyanka, Gagandeep, Gayatri, Amandeep, Kajal, Rajwant, Harjinder, Rohini and Anu. The scintillating winning trophy and Gold Medals were bestowed upon by the Secretary, Punjab Handball Association, Mr Amanbir Singh Sidhu.
Needless to mention, LPU students have displayed the best of sports skills not only at the state and national levels but also at the international level.
In fact, LPU’s School of Physical Education is the best physical education institution across India. The school is being credited for nurturing sportspersons with an aim to participate in Olympics, Asian Games, and other international competitions. The expert faculty members deliver rigorous academic and sports training in the international standard sports grounds and training fields. As a result, our students are winning accolades in India and abroad.
