On 7th November, LPU witnessed the inauguration ceremony of Management Conclave 2019 at the Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the university. It is one of the biggest Management Conclave organized by the Mittal School of Business in association with Curtin University, Australia. The theme of the conclave was “Business Agility in Volatile Times”.
Dr. Sanjay Modi, Executive Dean of Lovely Faculty of Business and Arts, welcomed Chief Guest of the event Mr. Ashok Mittal, Chancellor, Lovely Professional University. He also welcomed dignitaries, key-note speakers, and panelists including Mrs. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor, Lovely Professional University; Dr. Steve McKenna, Director MBA Programs and Associate Professor of Curtin University; Mr. Amit Pandey, Chief Operating Officer, Exicom Tele-Systems Limited; Ms. Cecilia J. Zheng, Business Development and Strategy Executive at Family Offices and Start-up in Europe and Asia; Dr. Vidy Potdar, Director, Blockchain R&D Lab at Curtin University, and Dr. Lakshminarasimhan Santhana, Founder of Graspinor Analytics.
Mr. Ashok Mittal put light on how agility is important in today’s education system. He said that the students should be agile and LPU itself follows the Agile System so that the students can learn to be agile in this world of volatility. He also added that the MBA’s trimester system at LPU is the best example he can quote for the agility in education. He urged students to be agile for a volatile environment.
Director MBA Programs and Associate Professor of Curtin University, Dr. Steve McKenna said that the World is very Volatile Place and we need the Agility to think quickly and clearly. He also said, “Everything is VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) and we have to be Agile in everything, we have to be agile in Marketing, Finance, and People Management.”
COO of Exicom, TEDx Speaker, and winner of 115 awards, Mr. Amit Pandey reminded all the students, faculty, and delegates that “Agility is our Personality. Managing Time is not what we need, we need to manage Energy.” He shared with the audience that it is his 150th Guest Lecture. He also shared the secret of success with the audience and advised everyone that “Accepting Unexpected will make you successful. Start loving struggle, get any job and make it best, and don’t get trapped in Designation. When you are happy, you are agile.”
During a panel discussion with Mr. Varun Jain, CEO, Miles Education as the Moderator of the Panel, and panelists, Dr. Vidy Potdar, Director, Blockchain R&D Lab at Curtin University; Mr. Atul Gandhi, Office Managing Partner KPMG; Ms. Cecilia J. Zheng, Business Development and Strategy Executive; Dr. Lakshminarasimhan Santhana, Founder Graspinor Analytics and Certified six sigma black belt, shared their experiences and views on Agility. Mr. Atul said, “Next Generation of Entrepreneurs” will come from North India. Ms. Cecilia said that for her Agility is adapting to a new environment, new culture, and moving from different levels of businesses. Panel Discussion concluded that being Agile, Honest, and on your toes is need of the hour.
At the end of the inauguration Ceremony, Dr. Rajesh Verma, Head of School, Mittal School of Business, proposed the Vote of Thanks to students, scholars, faculty, and corporate leaders.
