This is a great opportunity for the Performing Arts students to learn the nuances of staging a play from seasoned actors, writers, and directors.
“Natya Mahotsav”, a six play theatre festival is being held at LPU. National level theatre groups have arrived at the campus from different cities, to participate in the event. The performing groups are ‘Vihan Drama’ from Bhopal, ‘Manch Rangmanch’ from Amritsar, ‘Raas Kala Manch’ from Haryana, ‘Abhinay Rangnach’ from Hissar, ‘Rupak Kala Manch’ from Mohali, and ‘Sarthak Rangmanc’ from Patiala. The festival was inaugurated by LPU Director General Er. H.R. Singhla, on 22 August, 2016. He welcomed the performers of all the groups and wished them all good luck.
The inaugural play, ‘Dusra Aadmi, Dusri Aurat’ was staged at Shanti Devi Mittal auditorium on August 22nd, to great appreciation and applause. The play explored the concept of live in relationships and pre/extra marital affairs vis a vis the Indian society. It was staged by ‘Raas Kala Manch’, Haryana, written by Vibha Rani and directed by Ravi Mohan. The last play is scheduled to be staged on 2 September, 2016.
The Performing Arts students are thrilled to be able to witness professional, national level actors work their craft.
