…we all want our make-up to look perfect whether we are heading out for a party, going for an interview or just attending our regular classes.
Skin is the part of our body most exposed to the environment. It easily gets affected by factors like pollution, harsh sunlight, humidity and what ever else the good Lord thinks fit to send its way. So, I thought I’d share a few quick tips to protect it, at least from the vagaries of patchy make up. I know we all want our make-up to look perfect whether we are heading out for a party, going for an interview or just attending our regular classes. Here’s a daily 5 step Face-Care Routine, which one should follow before applying any sort of make-up to get that flawless look.
1. Clean wash your face
Don’t just wash it with a splash of water, but with your daily face wash. It will help you clean the pores and leave the face fresh and smooth. Also, try to use a mild face wash as your face’s skin is delicate. Don’t rub dry with a towel after washing your face, let the water stay for a while, it will help in hydrating your face, then gently pat dry.
2. Exfoliate
Yes, I may sound little weird but you have to scrub your face a tiny bit before applying makeup in order to open your pores and remove excess oil from it. Don’t rub it too hard, just massage it in mildly and wash out thoroughly with water.
3. Apply toner
By applying toner with the help of a cotton pad on your face, you will be able to remove any remaining traces of dirt and impurity from your face. It will also add a bit of moisture.
4. Moisturize your face
You can never apply makeup on a dry and non-moisturized face else it will flake and may shed or (horror horror) even start caking. So, take a good amount oil free moisturizer and massage gently massage it into your skin, at least 5-10 minutes before applying any make-up.
5. Spray Rose water
Rose water will add a glow to your face along with a little moisture, the best way for your skin to be before make-up application.
This is the whole routine ,once you are done with this whole routine, you can just go ahead and apply whatever make-up you.
*A Fairy-note for your skin*
No matter how light or heavy your make-up, you must ALWAYS remove it before going to bed. Put a little cleansing milk /rose water/milk on a cotton ball and gently remove your make up with it. Then wash and moisturise your face. Yes, you should apply a moisturizer as your pores get all opened up after a wash and are more prone to catching dirt, so lock them up with moisturizer or you can again apply milk with a cotton ball as milk is a natural moisturizer. Aloe Vera gel also works just fine.
