LPU’s Department of Student Entertainment & Event Management, Division of Art & Culture, Student Welfare Wing successfully organized the first “Y20 Dialogue” at campus in association with Indigenous Events, Y20 & G20, Government of India. The event was themed around India’s G20 Presidency – ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ meaning “One Earth, One Family, & One Future.”
Held on May 9, 2023, the Y20 Dialogue event brought together thought leaders and change-makers from various fields to discuss some of the most pressing issues facing our world today. The event witnessed the elite presence of our keynote speaker Indian Navy’s Vice Admiral Shekhar Sinha (Retd), Trustee, India Foundation along with renowned guest speakers Mr. Rohit Mehra, Commissioner of Income Tax, Ludhiana; Ms. Priyanka Deo, Chief Manager at the Times Group and host of Core Questions by The Times of India; Tanya Dubey, Content Head, LinkedIn; and Akash Jha, Secretary, Y20 India.
Vice Admiral Shekhar Sinha, Trustee of India Foundation, delivered an inspiring keynote address that highlighted the challenges and opportunities presented by the changing geopolitical landscape in the Indo-Pacific region. His thoughtful analysis underscored the importance of cooperation and collaboration among nations to ensure a more peaceful and prosperous future for all.
Mr. Rohit Mehra shared his wisdom on how small habits can make a big difference when it comes to protecting our planet. He encouraged us to adopt green habits in our daily lives to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Ms. Priyanka Deo gave a riveting talk on the cultural attacks that take place on social media. She spoke about the importance of awareness and critical thinking in combating misinformation and propaganda that can harm our societies and undermine our values.
A global platform for young leaders to discuss pressing issues, the Y20 Dialogue was a resounding success. The discussions and insights shared at the Y20 Dialogue will undoubtedly inspire young leaders to take action. A truly thought-provoking and enlightening event, it showcased the power of education, dialogue, and collaboration to bring positive change to our world.
