The athlete made a massive throw of 88.67m in his first attempt, securing him the top spot at the prestigious event. This achievement comes after his impressive Gold medal win at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, cementing his position as one of the world’s most visible Track and Field athletes.

In the season-opening leg of the elite Diamond League, Neeraj Chopra clinched the first position with a throw of 87.86m, setting a national record. Czech thrower Jakub Vadlejch secured the second position with a best attempt that fell just 4 cm short of Chopra’s mark. Two-time world champion Anderson Peters managed only 85.88m, taking the third spot. With this victory, LPU student Neeraj Chopra takes the lead in the Diamond League standings with the next event scheduled for June 9 in Paris.
