Music is the healing force of the universe and who will be better to throw light on music and its essence than Ms. Nishtha Sharma, a mesmerizing singer, winner of “The Voice India Kids” (2016), finalist of “Superstar Singer” (2019), and brand ambassador of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana. The live interaction session was conducted on 16th August 2021 by the Student organization, Oasis, under the aegis of DSW, LPU.
Nishtha Sharma was exuberant during the live session and was overwhelmed with the comment section. She was over the moon seeing the response of the vertos. She has to travel a lot for her recordings and requested everyone follow the guidelines. Nishtha is excellent in academic as well as linguistic skills and she is a concoction of many talents. She is grateful to her parents and talked about her love for studies and as we know, music. Her love for everything she does helps her keeping a perfect balance between everything.
She mentioned how she is thankful to her friends who always find a way to make her feel loved. She asserted the fact that “Thinking you could’ve done better keeps you motivated. If we get satisfied with anything, in one way or other we block the way to move forward. We should always try to push ourselves and try to be better.” At such a young age, she received so many awards and appreciation from very high-profile dignitaries. Her father has been her constant motivation and she looks up to him for everything. He is her role model and support system.
From childhood, she wanted to portray her parents’ hard work and wanted everyone to know about it. She has a great vision at a very young age which is inspiring for everyone. She stressed the idea that even if you fail, do more hard work and try again till you succeed. She told about an incident when she went to Indian Idols, she cleared all the rounds but wasn’t selected at the final round. She felt disheartened but her parents explained to her that failure is a part of life, it helps you to analyze your weakness and work on them. She worked on them and then went to The voice kids and became the winner of the show. The key to success is not giving up.
Her favorite genre is classical and semi-classical. She sang classical songs for our vertos, “Phool gendwa na maro” and “Ghar more pardesiya” and her melodious voice enthralled the crowd and the magic in it seemed spellbinding. She is a trained classical singer and if you’re interested in singing, you should take the training for it for a better base. Music is a meditation for her and one should do it with devotion. She also compared music to an ocean, where you just don’t have to swim on the surface but go deep down.
Social media has the power to bring new heights of success for everyone. If you have any talent, showcase it on social media if you can’t get into reality shows. Your talent will be conveyed to everyone and you will get everything sooner or later. She ended the live session with her first original song, ‘Udd Chala’, and a Tamil song, her euphonious voice can certainly go places. She added that it is important to feel the lyrics when you sing a song. Everyone gets nervous and it is important too, as it helps in excellent implementation.
“Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand.”
