One of the BSc (Hons) Physics students, Devanarayan Rajeeb Kumar of the School of Chemical Engineering and Physical Sciences at Lovely Professional University, has been offered Rupees 25 Lakh plus Scholarship to pursue Master’s studies in Finland.
He is to study “theoretical Physics” at the University of Turku (UTU) under the Finland Scholarship for a 100% fee waiver of 24000 euro, plus 5000 euro grand.
Carrying the motto of equipping students with incremental life skills; Finland is the 8th most educated country in the world. Finland’s University of Turku (UTU) supports only merited and motivated students with generous scholarships. It grants Finland Scholarships as part of the national Finland Scholarship programme, funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.
In addition, he is also selected under scholarship for the prestigious Bonn Cologne Graduate School of Physics and Astronomy, (Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms Univeraität Bonn), in Germany.
Congratulating the meritorious student for his international recognition; LPU Chancellor Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal advises him to gain research-oriented skills in a foreign land for the sake of the country and the global society.
Possessing a high-quality education at LPU, Rajeeb was also selected for online summer schools by ICTP Italy, the Indian Institute of Astrophysics and IUCAA. He was selected among 50 students from India to attend the Physics Training and Talent Search (PTTS-2022). He secured the top position from the Punjab state in the National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE-2022). He was a finalist with Silver and Bronze honours in the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition and International Youth Math Challenge respectively. He has also published his research works in two Q1-Indexed journals; Journal of High Energy Astrophysics and Chinese Physics C.
