All these years, students of LPU have shined and succeeded through thick and thin making us and our University proud. We have seen the hard work that the faculties and staff members do to help us and provide all the necessary raw materials to churn out a perfect finished product within us. Along with the students, the faculties also possess innumerable special talents that are rediscovered through their course of journey at LPU. There has been a lot of talk in the town of LPU students outperforming in various sports platforms including the performance in Tokyo Olympics, selections in the pro-Kabaddi league, winning Third Asian Taekwondo Open Championship, winning Kho-Kho championship by both men’s and women’s team and what not! LPU has also excelled in record-breaking placements, entrepreneurship, students starting their businesses and start-ups but the one zone that got overlooked was the cultural one! And this time, not a student, but our very own faculty of LPU has made us proud by making his talent worth enough to grab an amazing opportunity!
A single-track music album titled “Russ Jani Aan” released on YouTube recently is composed and sung by LPU faculty Dr. Monu Kumar. The album features the famous Punjabi actor and singer Yuvraj Hans. Yuvraj Hans is the son of Hans Raj Hans who was a singer and current MP of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). The music album features Ankita Sharma along with Yuvraj Hans with the lyrics being written by Balli Baljit and the video directed by Arshdeep Singh. This soulful track is streaming on YouTube currently with 3.8 lakh views and 6 thousand likes labeled on “Brandex Music”. The song is also available on Gaana, Wynk, JIOSaavn, Hungama, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Itune, Resso, and Deezer where you can listen online.
Dr. Monu Kumar is not just a Ph.D. holder and a professor, but a music artist, music director, and music composer who has worked on various albums with famous artists like Sukhwinder Singh. He also takes coaching classes in music named “Alfaaz-e-Sur” and owns a YouTube channel with the same title. He is popularly known as R’Maahi and can be seen featured in the album as well. He has worked in this industry for a long time and grabbed every chance given to him and stood up for his passion in music and is moving on the path laid by him towards success and only success!
