Swimming has been a source of great pleasure for mankind since the beginning of time. Over time, it has given rise to several more exciting concepts about water sports, such as kayaking and canoeing, which have gained widespread popularity around the world. Student-athletes from LPU are raising the tricolour in a variety of sports on a variety of stages! Our canoeing players recently won eight gold, two silver, and two bronze medals at the 31st Senior National Canoeing Championship held at Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, where they competed against teams throughout India.

LPU Students won 12 Bronze Medals in National Canoeing Championship

Kaveri Dhimar, an LPU student and member of the Madhya Pradesh State Water Sports Academy, who has been a national champion for the past three years, performed brilliantly in this championship, winning a total of seven medals. Kaveri Dhimar also competed in the qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics and Asian Games, as well as other competitions. In the Senior National Canoeing Championship, she won two gold medals in the 1,000-meter C1 and C2 events; a gold in the 500-meter C1 event; a gold in the 500-meter C2 event pairing with her team-mate Namita; a gold in the 200-meter C2 event pairing with Namita once more; a gold in the 200-meter C4 event; and gold in the 5000-meter event.

LPU Students won 12 Bronze Medals in National Canoeing Championship

Devendra Sen, a student at LPU, and his teammates Neeraj Verma and Abhishek Sandhav took home silver medals in the 1000m and 5000m races, respectively. Aside from that, Devendra won two bronze medals, one in the 1000m C-2 with Neeraj Verma and another in the 500m C-4 with Sonu Verma. A gold medal in the 1000m in the C-4 category was won by LPU student Kaveri Dheemar, who partnered alongside another LPU student, Kaveri Dheemar.

LPU Students won 12 Bronze Medals in National Canoeing Championship

The 31st national senior canoe sprint kayaking-canoeing championship, which was held recently in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, saw players from the Madhya Pradesh State Water Sports Academy win 29 medals, including 12 gold, 12 silver, and 5 bronze medals. The championship was won by players from the Madhya Pradesh State Water Sports Academy. The women’s team from Madhya Pradesh won the overall championship, while the Madhya Pradesh men’s team finished as the overall runner-up.
