Lovely Professional University (LPU) recently organized its prestigious 15th Achievers Award Ceremony to recognize and celebrate the exceptional achievements of over 600 meritorious and talented students. The event held at Shanti Devi Mittal auditorium of the university, applauded the students’ milestones in academics, cultural activities, sports, community service, research, and entrepreneurship during the academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24. The university left no stone unturned in honouring these outstanding individuals, bestowing upon them cash awards totalling over Rs One Crore. The ceremony is a highlight of LPU’s annual calendar to acknowledge promising students.
Distinguished guests, including Rajya Sabha Member and Founder Chancellor of LPU, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal; Pro-Chancellor Colonel Mrs. Rashmi Mittal; and, the Executive Director of ‘The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group (Mumbai)’ added prestige to the ceremony. Their presence and inspiring words motivated students and staff members to extend their heartfelt salutations to the proud parents, who have played a significant role in guiding their wards towards such remarkable achievements.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of parents from different states of India and other countries, who were overjoyed to witness the prestigious honouring ceremony of their talented children. The event commenced by felicitating students for their outstanding academic achievements during the academic year 2022-23. This was followed by the recognition of students’ accomplishments in cultural activities, sports, community service, research, and entrepreneurship during the academic year 2023-24.
A total of 160 students were awarded the University Honour Rolls for their excellent and outstanding academic performance, while 47 students received recognition for their remarkable achievements in community service. The awardees also included students from the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the National Cadet Corps (NCC), who brought laurels to LPU by participating in prestigious events such as the Republic Day Parade Camps and various national-level camps.
In addition, 235 sports achievers and 89 cultural achievers were honoured for their exceptional performances in their respective fields. The event also acknowledged the achievements of students in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the Lalit Suri Hospitality School took the opportunity to highlight the importance of inclusive education. They emphasized that education should be a passport to the future for all individuals, irrespective of their gender identity. The school commended Mr. Keshav Suri for his landmark initiative in providing scholarships for transgender students, which is a significant step towards creating a more inclusive educational environment in India.
