The Intellectual property Rights cell, under the aegis of the Division of Research and development, organized the First International Conference on Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights on 18-19 April 2022. The conference was supported and funded by the Punjab State Council of Science and Technology, Chandigarh.
The goals of the conference:
- PROVIDE a professional forum for discussions on national and international intellectual property rights laws.
- INTEGRATION of scientific community with intellectual property rights experts and industry for identification of new scientific challenges.
The conference had 16 keynote speakers from national and international repute both from academia and industry. Eminent speakers from industry and academia discussed each and every aspect of IP right from filing, validation, product development, IP evaluation and commercialization.

Ltd, Mrs. Namita Mittal, CEO, Verispire, Mrs. Founder and CEO of Origiin IP Solutions, Dr. Ashok Shukla, CEO SPA group of Enterprises, Dr Rajesh Kumar Thaper, Director-Racemix Molecules Pvt Ltd Subsidiary of Anphar Labs- Jammu.
There were around papers received out of which 45 papers were accepted for presentations. The papers related to various topics related to functional food, water purification, aerospace engineering and many more. Not only this, a variety of papers presented various aspects of IP and its regime including taxation. The best paper award was given to a scholar for his paper titled “Getting Prepared for the Fresh COVID19 Wave : Chemical Oxygen Generator for in a Resource Poor Settings”
