It’s been 1.5 years since I first heard about Jahnavi Dangeti, and I have been following her journey closely ever since. She studied at Lovely Professional University in Punjab, India. As a multitalented young lady, she is also known to hold a note of appreciation by the IBR otherwise known as Indian Book of Records.
Jahnavi has been a member of the Robotics and Intelligent System Community (RISC) at LPU, which is a student organization under the aegis of the Division of Student Welfare. It is for the first time that a member of RISC has represented India in the International Air and Space Program (IASP) at Kennedy Space Center (NASA Launch Operations Center), where she finished the entire Astronaut training programme, which included zero gravity, multi-access training, and other activities. She was the mission director of Team Kennedy, a group of 16 people from several countries who successfully launched a mini rocket into the atmosphere and landed safely. Her team accomplished a great deal that cannot be imagined or stated.
Jahnavi’s acceptance into the PoSSUM Academy is a testament to her dedication and hard work. The program prepares its candidates for suborbital human space flight to build unprecedented models of the upper atmosphere through tomographic imaging and in-situ sampling of noctilucent clouds. It is a highly selective program, and Jahnavi’s acceptance into it is a huge achievement.
At LPU, we are committed to providing our students with opportunities that help them grow and succeed in their fields. Jahnavi’s achievement is a reflection of our commitment to our student’s success. We are thrilled to see her take on this exciting opportunity and wish her the best of luck.
Jahnavi’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring, and she is an inspiration to aspiring astronauts everywhere. Her fortitude, drive, and choices have allowed her to achieve her goals and reach for the stars. We are honored to have her as a member of our LPU community and look forward to seeing her continued success.
