“We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
There are tough times and challenges at some point in your life and when you begin thinking that you can’t face them, you can’t-do it. Your confidence and zeal are at an all-time low and you start losing hope without even realizing it. Hope is never about who is strong or who is weak; it can either enable you to step forward and achieve your goals or make you give up on your dreams. It seems like there’s no way out but the hope is always there regardless of the situation.
If you are going through a tough time, here’s how to live a positive life and never lose hope:
- Always be positive and try to surround yourself with positive people only. Positive words have a positive input on your brain.
- Understand that your life can never be perfect no matter how hard you try. Your life can be happy, miserable or boring, but not perfect. If you choose to live a happy life, hope will always be with you.
- Learn how to turn your failures and disappointment into successes.
- Remind yourself of all the things and times that you battled through to accomplish your dreams even when you thought you will never be able to do them.
- Remind your goals to yourself and devise a plan. Having a plan will make you more ambitious and will motivate you to work hard and not give up.
- Give yourself a break. Your mind and body need rest. Forget about your tasks, chores, TV shows, social media, and phone at least once a week.
- Believe in yourself. Be proactive and trust yourself, don’t let the tough times control you.
Every day is one day less in your life, so make sure you do something with purpose and direction, no matter how large or small. When you lose hope, you lose your purpose in life and you stop living a fulfilling life. Having a bad day is not the end of the world. Committing a mistake is not a reason to give up. You can accomplish anything if you are willing to strive for it and stay determined. Stay strong because as long as you’re breathing, you still have a chance. And when the hard times knock, as they most obviously do, remember that the best is yet to come.
