To promote traditions and cultures of respective Indian states and various countries, the LPU’s Department of Cultural Affairs organized one-day ‘Sattriya Nrityam’ Fest. It was to uphold Assamese culture at the campus. The dance form Sattriya has received recognition in 2000 as a national classical dance and is counted among eight national ‘classical dance’ forms of India.
Famous four solo classical dancers from Assam State – Elizi Ojha, Priyanka Bayan, Nishita Parashar and Pragati Upadhyay performed at the fest.

The day-long performances included gayan-bayan (orations along with illustrations), dancing, singing the glory of God, and rejoicing with playing of Khol, Mridanga, Violin, Flute and more. It was indeed a mesmerizing event for all music and dance lovers of the university.
