Our lifestyle is sustained by energy. Looking at the current trends of high energy consumption, there is an urgent need to conserve energy and reduce its utilization on a global scale by adopting efficient technologies. In this context, a Short Term Course on Innovative Practices and Technologies in Energy Conservation was organized by LPU- Human Resource Development Center from Dec 26, 2020, to Dec 31, 2020. The program got an overwhelming response from academia and industry. Maestros of Academia and Industry deliberated on innovative practices and technologies in energy conservation.

The context was set by Program convener Dr. Sunaina Ahuja, Prof. & Associate Dean and Head, Human Resource Development Center. She assured that participants would be enriched with knowledge. “The Short Term Course is unique in terms of Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment methods which are gamified in approach,” she expressed. The panel consisted of eminent subject matter experts namely Prof.(Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, Executive Dean, Division of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Lovely Professional University, Mr. Sanjay Namdeo, Senior Counsellor – Energy & Corrosion Services, CII – Centre of Excellence for Competitiveness Confederation of Indian Industry, Chandigarh and Mr. Ankur Nagar, Counsellor – Energy Services CII – Centre of Excellence for Competitiveness Confederation of Indian Industry, Chandigarh.

Each Subject Matter expert expressed views on different segments of energy conservation. Prof.(Dr.) Dharam Buddhi deliberated on energy analysis of an industry, power factor improvement and Air conditioning and Refrigeration System with Cold Thermal Storage Technology; Mr. Sanjay Namdeo reflected on the holistic approach toward energy management, career pathways in energy conservation and management, Energy Conservation in Air Compressor & Compressed air System – Design Implementation and Success Case Studies, and Mr. Ankur Nagar deliberated on refrigeration & air conditioning systems & energy-saving opportunities boilers and steam system and also contemplated on ISO 50001 and Energy Management System.

Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, Executive Dean, Division of Innovation and Entrepreneurship appreciated the contribution of the Resource Team.
