As we all know that Lovely Professional University has always shown immense faith in its students and their talents and provided room for them to show their skills to the whole world. Yet on another prominent occasion, the students of LPU have shined and taken a step ahead in their expedition of gaining victory. This time, six LPU students have won in the North Zone Regional Skill Competition 2021 and are looking forward to taking over a national medal in the India Skills Competition 2022.

IndiaSkills Competition is organized by the National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. This competition is aimed to reach and churn out talents from different parts of the country and present them on a national stage widening their opportunities in the future. It is conducted every two years at different levels ranging from regional and national to international. Regional competitions are held first at zonal levels and the selected candidates represent at the national level in the IndiaSkills competition. The winners of the national level are set to represent the WorldSkills stage at the international level after the preparation of one more year.

The IndiaSkills 2021 North Zone Regional Skill Competition was conducted from 16th November 2021 to 17th November 2021 in Panchkula, Haryana where the participation of 450 candidates from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand. The selection is based on a number of skills where students can participate and gain recognition. The winners of the North zone will compete with the winners of the East, West, and South zones to emerge as recipients of national medals and undergo great training for representing the world stage.

Six students of LPU namely Priyanka (Graphic Design Technology), Gagan Bisen (Wall and Floor Tiling), Logesh B. (IT Network System Administration), Pankaj G. (IT Network System Administration), Shashi Ranjan (Print Media Technology), Ajeet Kumar Singh (Print Media Technology) have won at different positions at the North Zone Regional Skill Competition 2021, and now are walking towards participating in the IndiaSkills Competition 2022 and grab a national medal.
