Targeting to keep its personnel healthfully fit, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has collaborated with LPU to establish ‘Institute of Immunity and Nutrition Management (IINM)’ at the Force Group Centre in Jalandhar. Director General of CRPF, Dr AP Maheshwari inaugurated IINM, amid the presence of LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal, Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal, IG K Vijay Kumar (Chandigarh), ADG (Trg) SS Chaturvedi, DIG Harjinder Singh (Jalandhar) and other CRPF ranks and LPU faculty members.
Newly inaugurated Institute Institute of Immunity and Nutrition Management is going to train the cooking-staff to prepare tasty and nutritious meals through the training meted out to them by seasoned faculty members of LPU. Pulsing scenarios like COVID 19 and taking its front line work-force into prior consideration, CRPF top officials desire that its personnel should always have a healthy body which results in needed valour and skill.
Herbal Park and organic farming have also been developed, in this context, at the GC Jalandhar Campus. LPU will train the cooks to skill them through 20 different modules prepared by the faculty members of its top-ranked School of Hotel Management. Through these modules, LPU faculty will teach them cooking, hygiene, kitchen appliances, food storage, different dishes, salads, soups, sanitization and how to prepare and serve immunity-boosting food.
Inaugurating the institute, the CRPF DG Dr AP Maheshwari described the importance of immunity for physical well-being. He said that as a mother is in a family, so cooks are in the force. Both are responsible for providing nutritious food that eventually affects the immunity of a person. Dr Maheshawri also expressed his gratitude to LPU and appreciated their efforts dedicated toward the well- being of the force personnel through their guidance in shaping out the institute.
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal appreciated the passion and zeal of CRPF’s top brass in inaugurating the huge institute by working hard towards its concept to execution within a small span of 35-40 days. Mr Mittal also endorsed the valour and strength of the largest paramilitary force of the country- CRPF, which provides safety and security to the people on all internal fronts. Mr Mittal also thanked CRPF for providing LPU with an opportunity to be a great part of IINM. He humbly offered all services available at LPU for the benefit of CRPF personnel including enhancing their education through distance education mode, sports skills and more. Saluting the Force for bravery and sacrifices made; Mr Mittal also shared that LPU shall continue such association for other needed purposes as well.
