Though some of us often think that there is nothing to worry about our healthy habits, developing them now I much easier and will help us stay healthy throughout their lives.
We live in the largest college campus in the entire country and that gives us more than enough reasons and resources to jumpstart a fit life. Here are 10 ways to get in better shape and give into the serenity of a healthy lifestyle in Lovely Professional University.
Get up early in the morning to enjoy a refreshing walk on the sidewalks, start from your hostel and run laps around the entire university which will help you with your cardio routine. The boys’ hostel ground is the best place to work out basic exercises after the run, you can play any sport you want or practice solo on your skills.
Built adjacent to the ground are several kiosks that provide you with a wide range of food items ranging from Indian breakfast such as Parathas and Dosas to healthier choices such as oats, sandwiches, and tofu. Several vendors also offer fresh fruit juices to complement your breakfast and give your day a kick-start of nutrients.
Very often you will find that your department of study is quite a distance far away from your hostel. Despite the availability of E-rickshaws to make the journey fast and easy, walking is suggested for better health. Consider getting out of room 10 minutes before your usual time and take a peaceful walk down to your classes. You can listen to music, catch up with some friends or just catch up with scores or news to make the time fly away. Trust me, it’s more refreshing than you think.
The hustle – bustle of the day is surely exhausting but don’t lose your appetite in the chaos. Skipping meals in college is a common tendency shown by 90% of students. Take some time apart from your schedule and eat some healthy and solid food before you take on with the rest of the day. The food stations in LPU serve a variety of dishes during noon and they are all available for a reasonable price. Opting for hostel mess is suggested but if you are unable to take that option, feel free to try out the kiosks for some delicious lunch menus. Some suggested joints are around Boys Hostel 1, Block 34, Block 20, Boys Hostel 4 and Campus Café.
After your classes end, join your friends for a basketball match or any sport you like. It will help you keep up your energy level and reduce academic stress. Walk back to your room with a healthy shake of your favorite flavor as your evening snack. Chocolate shake from Froot shoot is my personal favorite! The LPU hostel has incorporated parks, walking spaces and sports grounds inside each one of the residential building which provides students the opportunity to keep active. Don’t slouch just after your dinner, take up a walk while talking to your loved ones, far away or at home.
Your health should be your priority, without it anything else is unworthy. College life is fun and we are often found eating outside or stashing on fast food but we should also take care of our eating habits for a better health. The university also hosts Fitness Edge, Gymnasium, Sports events, NCC programme and many other ventures to ensure their students are healthy.
