The second day of annual international fest ‘One World’ at Lovely Professional University (LPU) forwarded various entrepreneurship opportunities possible in other countries for LPU Students. As the theme celebrated this year was “International Trade, Commerce & Industry“, 3000+ international students from 50+ countries studying at LPU organized expo stalls for their respective country, in this context. Students mutually shared salient features of various businesses of import and export favouring their own countries. Along with, international students also exchanged ideas about their produces, cultures, values, foods, dresses, dances, songs, heritage and historical perspectives.

Expo-Stalls’ visiting LPU students came to know amazing facts, figures and things about countries other than their own. They imbibed from the fest that the principal exports of, one of the poorest considered countries in the world, Liberia are iron ore, rubber, diamonds, and gold. Yemen imports wheat, corn, rice, meat, pharmaceutical products, sugar and vehicles. Yemen (the word translated as a happy land) acquired this name because its high mountains attract rain, make it more fertile than most of the Arabian Peninsula. Morija arts and cultural activities of Lesotho Kingdom educated students about promoting tourism and small-scale manufacturing.

Similarly, it was exhibited at Sri-Lankan stall that major exports from India to Sri Lanka include motor vehicles, fuels & oils, cotton, pharmaceuticals, plastic articles, iron, steel, chemicals, cement, sugar and more. Students were informed that the export process from India to Sri Lanka and other countries is almost the same worldwide.  Budding entrepreneurs were also forwarded detailed information on how to export from India. Sri-Lanka students also exhibited festival of gratitude to Sun ‘Thai Pongal’, the festival of lights-Vesak Poya, and Buddhist festival of dances and richly decorated elephants-Esala Perahera.

Participating international students admitted unanimously, “Here at LPU, we are very happy to represent our respective country. We are happy to see that students from other countries enjoy our culture with a great feeling of oneness. In fact, the event ‘One World’   makes us more practical with an elaborated insight into how the world can be one leaving aside all intrigues & self-interests. We have also come to understand that unity among human beings lies in their diversity. We are happy to see that LPU designs this fest so that students with distinctive cultural backgrounds live peacefully, work together to be globally fit citizens and make happiness exist all around the world.” Similar information was also readily available about other countries including China, Bhutan, Somalia, Malawi, Mali, Maldives, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Mauritius, Tibet and more.
