Before starting, I would urge you to wait, think a little and question yourself- Life, the greatest gift which we have received from nature; are we living it the way we want or is there room for change?

Prior to talk about the inspiration which we are going to draw from the Viking way of lifestyle let’s get to know Vikings a little bit-

Who were Vikings?

Vikings is a collective term used for the Scandinavian (comprising of modern-day Denmark, Norway, and Sweden) people who between the late 8th to late 11th century thundered Europe with their raids. Poor and harsh, these pagans plundered Europe through that time but eventually settled with the course of time. Commonly having a notorious historical impression, there is much to be adored from their way of living which I would try to illustrate here!

Fearless

Fear life and more it has to threaten you. Overcome fear, and you will truly live free. Considered one of the most dangerous and daring fighters, Vikings had a reputation for holding the ground and fighting no matter how strong their enemies were. This was the reason even kingdoms like England and Frankia (France) feared Vikings for they preferred a valiant death embraced in the battleground.

Fighting Spirit

It is simple! If obstacles come your way, arm yourself, charge, and fight until you are victorious. But how many of do us stick to the principle when we are stuck? Our historical friends had such a fearsome and disciplined fighting tendency that they became synonyms for the ‘wrath of Gods’ and dominated Europe for nearly 250 years. They were skilled and brave enough to siege even the strongest of the cities like Paris.

Explorers

Exploring different aspects of life opens to you the possibility of everything beautiful that nature has to offer to you. Apart from their war skills, Vikings were considered as enthusiastic seafarers thus travelling and exploring as raiders and traders. It is true that they also suffered defeat and made mistakes but they kept their journey on thus clinching their title in history.

While many of us would not support the idea of violence and plunder (the very basis of Vikings) but most of us would admire certain aspects of their lifestyle and would truly like to incorporate them in one way or other for which I want to say-

“May Odin and Freya bless you from Valhalla.”
