Team Innovortex, representing LPU, has emerged as one of the WINNERS in the prestigious Smart India Hackathon-2023 Grand Finale(Hardware Edition) ! Out of 1305 teams from across the nation, they conquered the competition in the Student Innovation Category (Robotics and Drones)!
HEXDOC, the groundbreaking invention by team Innovortex , has emerged victorious in the prestigious Smart India Hackathon 2023. This innovative robot has been designed to address the pressing issue of collisions and accidents during construction and excavation processes, particularly in tunnels and caves. This project was made by Mohammad Furkan, R. Bhanu Mahesh, B. Naga Vamsi Reddy, Sharish Chandra, and C. Venkata Sunil under the guidance of Mandeep Singh and Ruhul Amin Choudhury.
The HEXDOC robot plays a pivotal role in rescue operations, utilizing its unique capabilities to navigate through tight spaces. Remarkably, it requires only a 1-foot by 1-foot opening to pass through blockades that would otherwise be inaccessible to humans. By mapping and analyzing the surroundings, HEXDOC provides rescue teams with accurate paths and routes to reach victims efficiently.
One of the remarkable features of HEXDOC is its advanced sensing unit, which is divided into two parts: environment and victim. The need for HEXDOC arises from the alarming statistics that highlight the risks faced by workers in rescue operations within tunnels and caves. With the nation’s valuable assets and skilled workforce at stake, it is imperative to develop a solution that mitigates these life-threatening situations. HEXDOC not only addresses this need but also serves as a valuable asset for a country like India, which experiences extensive construction activity.
A total of 45000 team have submitted their idea from all across the country and only 1305 teams have been selected to compete in the Finale
This remarkable achievement marks the 3rd time that the students of Lovely Professional University have clinched the coveted title of Smart India Hackathon
