LPU has established itself as a leader in the field of game development courses by offering students a comprehensive curriculum and state-of-the-art facilities, enabling them to develop their creative potential and technical expertise. The primary objective of the Game Development program at LPU is to provide students with a strong foundation in programming, game design, animation, and narrative development. Students gain practical experience by working with industry-standard software and hardware, empowering them to create games that are compatible with various platforms.
Deepanshu Soni, a student at LPU pursuing B.Sc degree in Gaming, created a remarkable 2D platformer titled “Do You Dare – An Unfair Game Challenge.” This game has gained significant acclaim in the field of video game development. Under the guidance of Prof. Navdeep Sindhu, the game showcases the mystique of light control, creative level design, and captivating challenges, making gameplay the essence of this independent video game. The Unity game engine was instrumental in bringing this project to life.
Deepanshu is a skilled game programmer, gameplay engineer, Unity developer, and Material painter. Hailing from Pali, Rajasthan in India, he possesses over three years of experience working with Unity and C#. During this time, he has diligently written code for his games and published them on platforms such as Itch.io and the Google Play Store. Deepanshu excels in mobile game development, Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, and Unity 3D, along with proficiency in various other software programs. Currently, he is in the development stage of his upcoming game, a Hypercasual Shooting project.
“Do You Dare” is the perfect game for platformer enthusiasts seeking a challenging yet enjoyable experience. With its fast-paced gameplay, six demanding levels, and exhilarating “capture the flag” objective, it pushes players to test their abilities to the fullest. In the game, players compete against each other, striving to be the first to capture the flag. With a limited number of lives (starting with only 10), strategic planning and quick reflexes are crucial to emerge as winners.
Deepanshu’s game, “Do You Dare” serves as a testament to LPU’s commitment to nurturing skilled game developers capable of thriving in the fiercely competitive gaming industry. The game demonstrates the values instilled in LPU students. At LPU, we extend our heartfelt best wishes to Deepanshu for all his future endeavours and achievements.
