Shanky Sungroya, who is a student of the School of Agriculture, Lovely Professional University has marked his spot as an emerging entrepreneur with his start up Green Grocer. The inspirational journey of Shanky so far has been covered by The Economic Times. The enterprise sources its products from the 1000 acres’ farms dedicated to the School of agriculture, LPU and incurs monthly sales of Rs 80000. Shanky, who is currently pursuing his Master’s degree started his venture when he was in the second year of his Bachelor’s degree.
The enterprise has massive support from the University whose Agriculture School is accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The enterprise is also backed by 10 lakhs rupees which is sanctioned by LPU’s Startup School for its expansion.
Green Grocer plans to start expanding in Jalandhar and Phagwara with aim of annual turnover of Rs 2.5 crore. The numerous occupants of LPU campus who serves as customers for Green Grocer added with the enormous support in inculcating start up culture in the University aided to its huge success.
