“A good stance and a good posture reflect a proper state of mind.” ~ Morihei Ueshiba
How often have you seen adults standing or walking in a way which doesn’t appear good aesthetically? How many times have people told you to stand or sit straight? People often get pointed out at the way they bear their posture. And this is the reason most of us have been taught to pay attention to our posture.
“Good posture and an attitude let you get away with anything.” ~ Lorna Landvik
A posture describes the whole body language of a person. What exactly do you see in a person when you first meet him? Believe me or not, it’s the way they walk, they stand. I have seen girls falling prey to these gentlemen, who bear such eye-catching postures and gestures. Also, men find themselves incompetent enough to talk to the well-postured ladies out there. This brings us to the conclusion that posture plays a major role in constituting the overall personality of an individual.
Before talking about the ways in which you can improve your posture, I would make you read what Loretta Young said about having a good posture:-
“Unless some misfortune has made it impossible, everyone can have a good posture”.
Start the improvisation of your posture by learning to sit properly. The ways are as follows:-
- Always keep your feet on either the floor or an elevated block so that your ankles are exactly in front of your knees.
- The backrest is to be adjusted in a way that it supports the middle and lower back.
- The shoulders and forearms must be completely relaxed.
- Continuous sitting in a single position should be avoided.
The standing posture can be corrected by learning the following ways:
- One must keep the knees slightly bent while standing
- The feet should have a separation of measurement equal to those of your shoulders
- The shoulders ought to be pulled backwards and stomach must be pulled inside.
A poor posture causes people to bend in many cases and in others they result in an unusual upliftment of the back muscles. Therefore it is very important to carry a perfect posture wherever you may go.
