“Had it been my way, things would just be better.” This is a thought at the back of our minds we keep ignoring and sometimes feed to ourselves in isolated moments.
Our mind is a strange place and it will make up things just to give reason to everything and this illusion keeps us going through life but once in a while our conscience knocks at the doorsteps of our illusion and forces us to meet reality, making us feel betrayed and enraged.
One such illusion is that remembering the past doesn’t hurt us. The reality is that we have allowed ourself to feel the pain and recover from it or we have accepted to live with it , not blaming our fate or circumstances just letting it stay where it is, in the past, and slowly moving ahead with our life without ignoring episodes of passed away moments. That in true sense is moving on.
Thus the World we live in and the one our mind makes us live in are entirely different, sometimes they can actually be the same but most of the time they are strangers to each other.
Denial: We tend to deny things which we cannot comprehend! Like we know the earth is going to get overburdened someday due to overpopulation. Mathematics assures us it will yet we deny that human extinction is actually going happen. We tend to deny things which are way out of our control and too painful to process!
When people feel they have no control over what is happening, they tend to see non-existent patterns in unrelated pictures and believe in conspiracy theories. There is nothing wrong in doing so, as it is one of the dealing mechanisms that our brains go through in order to justify and assignreasons to situations. Though the drawback is that sometimes these reasons may just only be partially true or fully delusional.
