Well, let me start off by saying that I’m a huge fan of Dan Brown and the way he writes. You might have heard about some of his novels, such as The Da Vinci Code, which perhaps is one of the most controversial books ever published, or Inferno, a worldwide phenomenon which was critically acclaimed and is a fan favorite. Many of his books have been turned into movies which are now blockbusters. But personally, I recommend that you read his books before watching the movies.
Now I’m here to talk about one of his lesser-known novel. Well, it’s famous all right, but frankly speaking, it’s hugely underrated. I’m talking about his novel ‘The Lost Symbol’. To be more accurate, I’m going to focus on a certain aspect of science that was mentioned in this particular novel. That’s right, I’m going to talk about ‘Noetic Science’.
So what is this Noetic Science?
Noetic Science mainly focuses on the studies which involve our consciousness. Noetic Science believes that our consciousness in no age-old fantasy which has been passed down from generations to generations, but rather a real-life phenomenon which is yet to be fully explored by mankind. Noetic Science is one such field which truly expands the horizons on how we perceive ourselves. Noetic scientists have been able to successfully prove the fact that our thoughts matter. Like literally. Through several experiments, they have been able to substantially prove the fact that our thoughts have mass and they have a major influence on how things turn out.
It’s mind-boggling, isn’t it? Imagine that each and every thought that we have has its very own mass and has the ability to influence the outcome of a major decision. The mass of a single thought by itself is relatively hard to comprehend. Which is why Noetic scientists believe in a universal consciousness.
We’ve all been to or at least seen these mass gatherings where people come together and wish for the greater good and most of the time this helps them reach greater heights in their lives. Why do you think so many people head over to these retreats? Because these retreats and prayers help them fulfill their wishes. Now, why does this happen? Because of our universal consciousness. A huge number of people gathered over at a single place, their wishes might vary, but all they have are positive thoughts. And it is these positive thoughts which influence our lives and which help us achieve our goals. Trust me, this is no clichéd pep talk that you might have heard over the radio. This has been scientifically proven and more research is happening in this field as we speak.
So what can we possibly take back from this groundbreaking discovery? All this just merely points out to the fact that if you have happy thoughts, you live a happy life. Each and every thought that you have influences your life and the life of those around you. Whether you like it or not, this is the harsh truth. Accepting this won’t be easy, I’m well aware of that. To accept this would mean to step away from our stereotypical lives and to literally think out-of-the-box. The way this discovery affects our lives is unthinkable. Thanks to the research done in this field, we’re closer to understanding the human soul (so to speak) than we’ve ever been. ‘Is there an afterlife?’ ‘Do we really have a soul?’ ‘What happens to our consciousness after we die?’ The answer to these mind racking questions is finally within our grasps. And this is all thanks to Noetic Science.
We’ve all had that one point in our lives where we’ve hit rock bottom. We’ve felt insignificant and felt as if our decisions have no essence in them whatsoever. But my friends, just remember one thing. Your lives matter. Your thoughts matter. Your decisions matter. The universe has a plan for each and every one of us. It might not seem that way at first, but believe me when I say that things will turn out just fine. There will be obstacles in life. There will be trials and issues that you just can’t seem to overcome. But it is this struggle that makes our lives worth living. No matter how big the problem. No matter how huge the obstacle is. You just have to believe in yourselves and you’ll surely be able to overcome it. Think happy thoughts, smile often, enjoy our lives smallest pleasures and make sure that when you look back, you’ll proudly be able to say that you’ve lived a life without regrets.
