LPU NSS (National Service Scheme), a part of the Community Service Cell, conducted an event ‘India’s Bravehearts’ on February 19th, 2020. This event was held in remembrance of all the brave soldiers who were martyred during the Pulwama attack on February 14th, 2019 on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway. The day was enlightened with the presence of the families of the martyrs who were honoured as a gesture of tribute for their bravery and sacrifice for the nation.

LPU NCC paid homage with a march-past and more than 300 students and faculty members observed a moment of silence for all the martyred soldiers and lit candles as a gesture of respect. Worthy Chancellor sir Mr. Ashok Mittal and worthy Pro-chancellor madam Mrs. Rashmi Mittal donated 1.25 lakhs to each family of the martyred soldiers of the Pulwama attack as a token of respect for the soldiers’ bravery. They expressed gratitude to the families of the martyrs and told them how proud the whole nation is for laying their lives to protect ours.

Our country is home to valiant soldiers who aren’t afraid to give their all to keep us safe. It is because of them, that our country is at a place it is now. LPU students expressed their interest in joining the Indian army to serve our nation even if it means the cost of their own lives. The students also mentioned how we will always be indebted to everything that the soldiers of our country do for us every day in extreme temperatures, far from their families with no guarantee that they’ll be alive the next moment or not.

LPU stands strong for the families of all such courageous soldiers who risk their lives every day to serve the nation and protect us so that we can sleep in peace every night.
