When it comes to entertainment, watching movies is one of the top preferences for many of us. Taste and favorites for every individual are different but some movies inspire all of us no matter what. Here I am going to recommend 5 movies from the large corpus of such inspirational movies:
- Guru (2007)
The first on the list comes Guru which is based on the life of Dhirubhai Ambani (father of Mukesh and Anil Ambani and founder of Reliance Group). The film shows his journey to the top from the scratch. His journey through ups and downs reminds us of the fact that success is no piece of cake but with the right mindset and the habit of never giving up there is nothing that can stop you from achieving your goals.
- The Imitation Game (2014)
Based on the period of the second world war when the world was in turmoil, it depicts how Alan Turing (Father of Computer Science) and his team decoded The Enigma (German encoding machine used for military and diplomatic communication) with the help of computing power and saved an estimated 2 million lives by shortening the war by nearly 2 years.
- The Man Who Knew Infinity (2015)
Talent is like the sun which cannot be stopped for long from shining. This movie is based on the life story of Indian mathematician prodigy S Ramanujan and how he became one of the leading mathematicians of the world from a poor Indian in colonial India.
- 300 (2006)
Brave fear neither life nor death. Packed with extreme action, this movie depicts the tale of the War of Thermopylae (The Hot Gates) which was fought between a massive invading Persian Army and a combined army of Greece under King Leonidas of Sparta. Even though being heavily outnumbered they battled the Persians for 2 full days and when betrayed by one of their people, 300 Spartans sacrificed themselves in what can be called a heroic last stand.
- Mangal Pandey: The Rising (2005)
The movie portrays colonial India (India under British) during 1857 and the rebellion of a company soldier Mangal Pandey due to the objectionable contents of rifle cartridges which ultimately triggered what we know as The Revolution of 1857 and continues to inspire patriotic feelings until today.
